The Position and Coordination of Corner Side Carton Sealer in a Packaging Line
2025-08-26
In a standard layout, the corner side carton sealer is placed right after the top & bottom carton sealer. While the top and bottom tapes close the main flaps, the carton edges remain partially open. The corner side carton sealer applies additional sealing tape to the vertical edges, preventing carton deformation and providing extra protection for stacked goods.
The machine works in close coordination with the conveyor system. Once the carton is aligned on the conveyor, side belts or bottom belts guide it smoothly into the sealing station. Pneumatic pressing units adjust the carton’s position automatically, ensuring precise edge alignment. The sealing head then applies tape at each vertical corner, completing the process continuously without manual intervention.
In an integrated packaging line, the corner side carton sealer usually operates with carton erectors, case packers, and palletizers. After the carton is erected and filled, the top & bottom sealer and the corner side sealer finish the sealing process, preparing the carton for palletizing. This sequential cooperation ensures package integrity and reduces risks during transportation.
To maintain efficiency, the operating speed of the corner side carton sealer must be synchronized with other machines in the line. PLC control enables communication between units, ensuring that cycle times match and preventing bottlenecks. Proper configuration and integration guarantee that the corner side carton sealer functions as a reliable link in automated packaging systems.
